Danum Trail

This 2.2km long trail begins where the Nature Trail ends.  Unlike the Segama Trail, it runs parallel to the Danum River heading upstream. Easy access walkway at Danum Trail that leads you to the riverside that provides you with a good visibility for bird watching.  The bright orange colored Trogon is often being spotted here. The Crested Fireback can sometime be seen as well. 
 
At about 1.0 Km from the Lodge, you may see a troop of Red Leaf Monkeys looking for succulent young leaves on the trees along the riverbank.   Other animals such as Dusky Egret, Otters and sometime the Sambar Deer are seen in looking for food on the green vegetation along the riverbank. You may hear deer making a loud call signal to predators before disappearing into the thicker vegetation.
 
As you approach the river bed at the end of the trail, look you will come across one of the deeper pool. Catch a glimpse of some bigger fishes such as Ikan Pelian (Freshwater Carp) and Serawi or Ikan Batu. You can also walk on the riverbed when the water level is low.
