Elephant Trail

Following the Sapa Tolisai bridge opposite the View Point trail on the right is the Elephant Trail.  It runs parallel with the upstream of Danum River.

The trail follows an easy, reasonable flat route after crossing some small stream.  Just over 2.5 Km, the journey continues through crossing the Danum River and trek back to the Lodge through the Danum Trail.  However, crossing the Danum River is only allowed during low tide.  Otherwise, you will have turn back using the same trails.

The point of interest on this trail is the opportunity to catch a glimpse rich whooping and gurgling Borneon Gibbon making its territorial call.  It is recommended to trek this trail in the morning.

Along the trail you will also encounter Fig trees or Abony which usually attracts birds and other primates.
