The trail begins at the end of the Police Bridge that
crosses the Sapa Babandil Stream. This bridge was built in
1995 by the Expedition Club of the Scotland Yard, United
Kingdom together with their counterpart of the Royal Police
Malaysia.
Similar to Segama Trail, this trail stretches about 2.5 Km
and runs on the opposite banks parallel to the Danum River.
Both the Talaka and the Segama trails meet at the Raleigh
Bridge.
The Raleigh Bridge was first built by a group of young
nature enthusiast from Europe in the Raleigh International
Project. It was rebuilt on the same site following it
washed down by the big food in February 2000.
As the trail lies along the river and small streams, it is a
usual site to see a solitary bull elephants moving from the
lower Danum River to the Sapa Bebandil stream. It can
be very loud when disturbed and can be startle if they are
close by human. It is advisable to keep the distance.
Argus Pheasant can also be found along the trail.
